In 1972 Dow joined CBS and he also served as a co anchor for the ‘Sunday Morning’ and ‘The CBS Nightly News.’ Dow also won a Peabody Award for the report which he made about runways. Dow is survived by wife and three children.

As of today, the cause of death of Harold Dow was not known until this morning, and after initial investigations, it has been estimated that he died of an asthma attack. Harold Dow was 62. While there has been no official determination on his cause of death, it was reported that he had been diagnosed with adult onset asthma, and further, it was reported that Dow was hospitalized last week for treatment of what a family spokesman called severe asthma symptoms.

“At the time of Harold’s death, he was suffering from adult onset asthma. On Monday, August 16, 2010, Harold checked himself into the Valley Hospital emergency room in Ridgewood [New Jersey] for severe asthmatic symptoms. That seems just horrible to me! eMedicineHealth.com says that over 17 million people in the U.S. have asthma, but only 5,000 die annually from it, so the odds are good that it won’t be fatal. Police are still investigating what happened.
