Jamie Nicole Hale, 32, pleaded no contest to two counts sexual battery with a 17-year-old male student. According to Lincoln County authorities, Hale was a choir teacher at Star Valley High School in Afton, Wyoming at the time of her arrest in May 19, 2009. She was charged with one count each of 3rd-degree and 4th-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

Hale was sentenced to a year in jail with six months suspended from her sentence.

According to District Court, Hale allegedly “engaged in sexual intrusion with a victim who was 17 years of age and was at least four years younger than the defendant, and occupied a position of authority in relation to the victim.”
