Julie Denno, 27, of Ballston, N.Y. was charged with second-degree sexual assault and impairing the morals of a minor, after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student.

Denno, a single mother of a 2-year-old boy and a former teacher at the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, Conn., is accused of sexually assaulting the student between December 2007 and January 2008 at her Bristol home.

The school suspended, then fired her as details of the case unfolded.
