Melissa Dawn McCord, 35, a special education teacher at West Carroll Elementary in Atwood, Tennessee, was arrested and charged with statutory rape by an authority figure, providing obscene materials to a minor, solicitation of a minor to observe sexual conduct and solicitation of a minor.

According to the Jackson Sun, McCord met the 14-year-old boy through her daughter who was dating him.



In a police report, McCord admitted to exchanging text messages with boy and meeting him in a park, but did not admit to having sexual contact with him. McCord is accused of performing oral sex on the boy two times at a city park.

On Feb. 10, 2009, McCord was released from jail on a $7,500 bond.
