Delaware schoolteacher Rachel L.Holt was charged on April 4, 2006 with 28 counts of raping a 13-year-old student from March 24 through March 31, 2006.

Before her arrest Holt was a science teacher at Claymont Elementary School in New Castle County, Delaware. According to reports, she was arrested for having sex with the 13-year-old student after the boy's father contacted police and reported her for having an inappropriate relationship with his son.

The affidavit in the case states Holt, using deceptive measures, gained permission by the boy's father for the boy to stay overnight at her home.


Holt faces additional charges after police learned that an additional minor, a 12-year-old student and friend of the boy, watched as the two engaged in sex at least one time. Holt also allegedly provided alcohol for the two minors.

She was jailed at the Baylor Women's Correctional Institution and bail is set at $500,000.
