For everyone who saw the Glee spring premiere, you’d probably notice the new guy singing alongside Lea Michele. His name is Jonathan Groff. Although it’s his first time to be on Glee, it’s not his first time performing with Michele. Both singer actors have worked together while starring on Broadway in Spring Awakening since summer of 2006.
Groff even got a Tony nomination for his performance in the musical as Melchor, the love interest of Michele’s character who got pregnant.  That’s why it’s so easy for him to play Michele’s romantic partner.
As for his TV career, Glee isn’t his first gig. He played a high school student on One Life to Live. Last year, he was also in the Ang Lee film Taking Woodstock, along wit h Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Emile Hirsche.
Although, his romantic angle with Michele in Glee is exciting, there’s something quite untrustworthy about his character, Jesse St. James, as he is the lead singer of the rival show choir. Also, it seems there is something between him and his choir director, played by Idina Menzel.  Ensuing events on Glee are sure to be juicy!
