Charles Bartholomew "Chuck" Bass is a fictional character in the best-selling Gossip Girl series of novels. The character is portrayed by Ed Westwick in the television series of the same name. Although he is a secondary, antagonistic character in the original book series, in the television series Chuck is one of the main characters, serving as the show's antihero. The television series character is noted for his financial ambition and personal style.  He is the best friend of Nate Archibald, the stepbrother of Serena van der Woodsen, and Blair Waldorf's on/off again boyfriend.

The singer Chuck Bass passed away of natural causes at a nursing home in Greenport, New York on Sunday (25Apr10), her publicist tells the Associated Press.Reed was best known for her career in music, performing regularly at New York’s Carnegie Hall and at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, but also appeared on the big screen in 1948’s Glamour Girl.
