Christel Gravlin, 33, a former beauty queen and married mother of two, pleaded guilty on March 3, 2008, to one count of 3rd-degree rape.

Gravlin, a former 10-grade teacher at Lisbon Central School in Lisbon, New York, admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old male student. According to reports, the authorities were tipped off after an intoxicated Gravlin told a group of students about the affair. In her written statement to police, Gravlin blamed alcohol, prescription drugs, depression and pressure from the boy, as to the main reasons the sexual relationship occurred.
