In December, 2007, Kellie Ann Cormican, 39, was a substitute teacher at Crookston High School in Crookston, Minnesota when she was arrested and charged with five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and five counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct stemming from a sexual relationship she was having with a 14-year-old boy.

On March 4, 2009, Cormican was sentenced to almost 10 years, after she entered guilty pleas to five counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Cormican is expected to spend two-thirds of her 10-year-sentence in prison and the rest on supervised release. She is also required to register as a sex offender.
