2003: Appeared in all 15 games as the holder on placements... Played in four games at QB... Emerged as the Wildcats’ No. 2 quarterback toward the end of the season... Was K-State’s third leading rusher with 149 yards on 16 attempts... Led the team in yards per carry (9.3) and was third in rushing touchdowns with three... Completed 5-of-8 passes for 78 yards and two interceptions... Saw his most extensive action at Iowa State... Completed 4-of-5 passes for a season-best 51 yards and rushed for 76 yards on nine carries... Saw his first career action vs. McNeese State... Was the first 1,000-yard passer and 1,000-yard rusher ever in the SEK Conference... Directed Pittsburg to back-to-back appearances in the Class 5A state title game... Threw for 1,465 yards and 14 TDs, while rushing for 935 yards and 10 TDs as a senior... High school coach was Merle Clark... Also lettered three times in baseball, twice in basketball and once in track.

Personal: Born March 16, 1984, in Pittsburg, Kan... Parents are Dennis and Valerie Meier... Older brother, Shad, played tight end at K-State (1997-2000) and is currently with the New Orleans Saints of the NFL... Younger brother, Kerry, is a quarterback at Kansas... A finance major.

Former Kansas State and Pittsburg High quarterback Dylan Meier died this weekend after falling from a cliff while hiking with family members in Arkansas, multiple reports said.
Meier, 26, a 2003 PHS graduate, played for the Wildcats from 2003-06. Reports said that Dylan and his older brother Shad — a former K-State tight end — were hiking when Dylan slipped and fell.
Dylan Meier had been planning to move to Korea and teach English before the accident.
Another brother, Kerry, just completed his football career as a wide receiver at the University of Kansas.
