Internet rumors today claimed Guru, one half of the hip-hop duo Gang Starr, had passed away, but don't worry -- he's still with us. The rapper suffered a heart attack and is recovering from surgery, according to Billboard.com, and he's still in a medically-induced coma.

Guru's former partner DJ Premier wrote on his Twitter this morning, "Good news: #guru surgery was successful, keep sending him love." He later added, "#Guru still in a med induced coma, he's breathing with machine help. And please reporters, don't copy without care. #Pray."

Gang Starr was a hip-hop group founded in Boston in 1985. They've released several albums, but they're not currently working or touring together: Still, the band members claim they're on a "long break" rather than splitting for good.
