Hemlock Printers Ltd. has been proudly operating in Burnaby, British Columbia for the past forty years. Regarded as one of the largest commercial printers in the Pacific Northwest, Hemlock has grown from a one-man shop in 1968 to a state-of-the-art 79,000 square foot facility employing over 170 craftspeople. Privately owned by the Kouwenhoven family, Hemlock also has sales offices in Victoria, BC, Seattle, WA, and San Francisco, CA. Burnaby is located between the urban centres of Vancouver and New Westminster and is part of Metro Vancouver.
Hemlock is a highly focused, customer orientated organization offering complete printing services including in-house colour separations, electronic prepress, printing, binding and finishing and fulfillment. Our main plant uses Heidelberg presses exclusively for litho projects. Our digital division utilizes an HP Indigo 5000 for shorter runs and variable printing. We serve all major business sectors and specialize in advertising collateral, fine art printing, labels and packaging, publications, direct marketing, stationery, fulfillment services and corporate communications. We are widely recognized as the printer of choice for North America’s leading design and advertising firms.
Hemlock has taken a leadership position when it comes to promoting environmental awareness and sustainability. In 2004, a sustainability committee was formed to focus on improving environmental performance and developing internal sustainable practices. Hemlock actively promotes the use of FSC certified papers, uses low VOC vegetable based inks, and complies with all environmental laws. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond, and have been recognized for our actions by being named the Most Environmentally Progressive Printer in Canada for the past five years consecutively.
As a large part of Hemlock’s business comes from U.S. clients, we have taken steps to ensure our ability to export goods from Canada is seamless. U.S. Customs and Border Protection have certified Hemlock as a C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) certified importer into the U.S. and a FAST (Free and Secure Trade) approved highway carrier. Our customers are guaranteed secured products in both our facility and in transit.
