The world is aware that billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) is the armored superhero Iron Man. Under pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology with the military, Tony is unwilling to divulge the secrets behind the Iron Man armor because he fears the information will slip into the wrong hands. With James "Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle) and Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) at his side, Tony forges new alliances and confronts powerful new forces.

Iron Man 2 is an upcoming 2010 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name from Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures. It is the sequel to 2008's Iron Man, and the second film in a planned trilogy.[5] Directed by Jon Favreau, the film stars Robert Downey, Jr. reprising his role as Tony Stark, an industrialist and master engineer, also known as the superhero Iron Man. The film is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on April 29, 2010 and in North America on May 7, 2010.


We've always had a soft spot for Scarlett Johansson, and our positive feelings for her were only strengthened when she graced the red carpet for the premiere of "Iron Man 2" in Hollywood on Monday night.
Case in point? Check out her endearing response to the Japanese journalist to our right, who asked every star walking down the carpet to say hello to their fans halfway around the world in Japan.
Johansson plays the feisty Black Widow in the film, which marks her first big turn an as action star. Training for the intense stunts was quite a shift from her work in recent romantic comedies, she said.

"It was slightly painful, but in the end it really paid off," she said, smiling. "I have to say it was a lot of stunt training, strength training, weight resistance training and all of that stuff, and it really paid off in the end. I was able to do the stunt work and I'm very excited to see how it pans out tonight."

As for why "Iron Man" has such wide appeal, the actress attributes the phenomenon surrounding the film to its star.

"He's a bad-ass in every sense of the word," she said.
