Kyle Korver set the NBA's single-season record for 3-point shooting this year.
Korver went 59-for-110 (53.6 percent) from the land of trey, breaking Steve Kerr's record (52.4 percent) from the 1994-95 season. It's obviously not a fluke as Korver is one the best pure shooters to ever play. But from a fantasy perspective he averaged a paltry 1.1 3-pointers per game. He was waiver wire fodder all year.

C.J. Miles was a sparkplug for the Jazz on Saturday, scoring 17 points on 4-of-10 shooting (including two threes) with no rebounds, two assists, and one steal in just 24 minutes.
He left the game during the third quarter after taking a vicious hit, and also jammed his left middle finger (X-rays were negative). The injury doesn't appear to be serious, and the Jazz cannot afford to lose him with their depth already an issue, and Carmelo Anthony ready to jam the ball down their throats.

In keeping with my new obsession (NBA playoffs have replaced American Idol seamlessly), I will be focusing on some NBA issues in my blog.

It is hard to believe that 17 years ago four white players and a played on the original Dream Team (Larry Bird, John Stockton, Chris Mullin and the Ringo Star of the Dream Team – Christian Laettner). Earlier than that were legends like Pete Marivich and Jerry West who were studs. And in the 1980s and 1990s you had guys like Tom Chambers and Dan Majerle who were all stars and as athletic as any black basketball player. Now the only white Americans who get near an all star game are Jack Nicholson and the referees.

Kyle Korver submitted his own design of the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe which will be featured online, along with a video of him designing his shoe and explaining the process.
Korver’s shoe features pinstripes to represent all of the people in his life, and a red stripe to represent himself and his desire to be an original. Converse will produce 226 pairs of the shoe, which pays homage to Korver’s jersey number 26, and will be donated to the Kyle Korver Foundation, whose mission is to make a positive impact on the lives of under-privileged children by improving the quality of life for disadvantaged youth and their families.

“My grandmother was an art teacher and she helped begin my interest in design at a young age. I enjoyed it so much that I majored in visual communications in college, and I’ve had a passion for art and design ever since,” said Utah Jazz forward Kyle Korver. “I’m known as a basketball player but basketball isn’t everything that defines me, and I’ve always looked for opportunities to express myself off the court. I’m very excited for the MyChucks contest because it gives people the opportunity to express themselves by using the most iconic shoe of all time.”

To enter, contestants can visit mychucks.eastbay.com to download the entry kit which contains a silhouette of the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe and contest instructions. Participants need to submit a scanned image of their design and a 20-30 second video explaining their entry. Submissions will be placed in an online, public gallery where visitors can vote on each design. Visitors to the website can also register for a chance to win a new pair of Chuck Taylor All Star shoes every day between April 28 and July 6.
