This plan could change depending on the actual weather conditions on Saturday.

The marathon's website states the contingency plan was developed in consultation with city authorities and is meant to protect everyone involved with the race.
Thousands of participants descend on the city each year to run in or watch the popular Country Music Marathon & 1/2 Marathon. Runners set off from Centennial Park and a carnival atmosphere takes over the city as approximately 50 bands and 30 high school cheer squads line the route at what's known as 'Music City' to cheer on competitors. Musical styles include country, rock, jazz, blues, swing and generate a unique and electrifying buzz for the day‘s event. The music and entertainment continues late into the night at the post-race party at the Gaylord Entertainment Center in downtown Nashville.
