Hello! The mandatory PS3 3.30 update will apparently be available "shortly" and bring some minor updates while preparing your console for 3D stereoscopic gaming. [Playstation—Thanks, Jess!]

A new update to the PlayStation 3 will add some new sorting options for Trophies to make it cleaner and easier. PS3 Update 3.30 is a mandatory update and will prep the console for some upcoming changes, including 3D stereoscopic gaming.

The most noticeable update will enhance Trophies, allowing you to easily sort through Trophies.

Below is a full explanation of the update, via the PlayStation Blog:

* Trophy enhancements –- Now you can more easily sort trophies in the [Trophy Collection] and [Comparing Trophy] sections. Sorting can be done with [Trophy Collection] in the [Game Category] and also when comparing trophies with your friends in the [Friend Category]
* Trophy Folder (Title List) can be sorted by game name/by title according to the date in which you earned your last trophy (ascending/descending)
* Add-on list (Group list) can be sorted by original/the date in which you earned your last trophy (ascending/descending)
* Trophy list can be sorted by original/trophy name/grade/date of obtaining the trophy (ascending/descending)

Well, I hardly ever play my PS3, I have only played it for about 10 hours. It’s not much it was been sitting there for 2 years and today I finally got a new game GTA Liberty City Stories for the PS3. First I booted the PS3 up and upgraded to firmware 3.3 and they said something about not running customs OSes (Like I would do that) and I installed it and put the game in and I ran the install and it was done installing and GTA games usually have those loading pages with the characters etc, and it kept looping and looping and I got tired so I quit the game and then after the game didn’t show up and it would not read. I have tried reformatting and restoring and neither have worked. I guess it won;t read my game since the blue-ray thing must be burned out even though I haven’t even played the machine heavily.. I don’t know but I really can’t understand how a PS3 would break so fast when I played my PS2 for many years and it is still doing fine only with some freezes. I am guessing the PS3 that I have must be bad, plus my warranty expired a year or two ago so I guess I have to pat $150 to fix it or else try to fix it myself. I didn’t know Sony products were so cheap not, I hope they aren’t taking a shortcut and being like Toyota.. Toyota is still a good car, I am buying a Prius soon or a Honda insight but, I am down $400 since my 40gb PS3 broke with minimal use.. I hope that game didn’t corrupt my system or anything.
