Aaron Wayne Kelly (born April 2, 1993) is an American singer from Sonestown, Pennsylvania and the fifth place finalist on the ninth season of American Idol. Prior to Idol, he was a finalist on America's Most Talented Kid at age eleven.
Kelly auditioned for American Idol in Orlando, having won the American Idol Experience competition in Disney World which enabled him to skip the preliminary auditions and appear first before judges Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Kristen Chenoweth. Kelly is the third contestant from Pennsylvania, and currently the youngest contestant to make it through into the Top 12 on American Idol, while semifinalist Haeley Vaughn is the youngest to be selected for the Top 24. He is also one of two contestants from Pennsylvania to be selected for the Top 24 in this season's American Idol. On May 5, 2010, Kelly was eliminated from American Idol after landing in the bottom two with Michael Lynche, and finished in 5th place.





Kelly's rendition of "Fly Me to the Moon" polled the least number of viewer votes after a tough Frank Sinatra-themed week for the five remaining Idols.

"I've had a great time. I've had a blast," said a clearly shocked Kelly.

He was joined in the bottom two by Michael Lynche in a shock result given the praise Lynche received from the judges for his performance of "The Way You Look Tonight."

Glam pop singer Lady Gaga, dubbed by "Idol" judge Simon Cowell the most relevant pop artist in the world, gave an eye-popping but vocally wobbly performance of her new single, "Alejandro," dressed in a black lace-and-net costume and a sheer widow's shroud.

Wednesday's results show leaves Lynche, Crystal Bowersox, Lee DeWyze and Casey James in the running for a shot at winning the "American Idol" title and a recording contract in the finale at the end of May.

James, more at home with rock and country music, had been widely seen as the most likely candidate to be eliminated this week after a weak performance. Judge Kara DioGuardi on Tuesday described his voice as "sounding like a lamb" in his rendition of "Blue Skies."

"American Idol", now in its ninth season, is still America's most-watched TV show overall, but its audience has slipped below 20 million for the past three weeks.
