Labour seemingly are at risk of losing Parliamentary seats in marginal constituencies where there results could go to the Conservative, Labour or other political parties.
Given the opinion polls a lot of seats could be easily won or lost based on policies, and the general consensus is that the Conservative party, are most likely to emerge as the winner with the most seats, although still lacking the overall majority of seats needed to win the general election outright.
The House of Commons is where elected Members of Parliament sit and discuss politics. In this election which ever party gets elected has to gain an overall majority.
There are 650 Parliamentary seats in total, and it is widely seen that from opinion polls that the Conservative party are most likely to gain the most seats. Whether they have enough support to gain an overall majority is also under question, as talks of a hung Parliament have surfaced for the past few weeks.
A hung Parliament is where no party has an overall majority in the House of Commons, and this would in effect lead to the Labour party and the Liberal Democrats doing some sort of deal to share power in this event.
This certainly happened in the 1974 election where no overall majority occured during the election and the Liberal Democrats and the Labour party shared some power and formed a weak coalition government.
There are tough stances to be made on the economy which is the main political debate and the Labour government has got the United Kingdom in a lot of debt.
