Morganna Roberts is an entertainer who became known as Morganna or Morganna, the Kissing Bandit in baseball and other sports from the early 1970s through the 1980s. She was also billed as "Morganna the Wild One" when appearing as a dancer in the 1980s.
Her claim to fame is her kissing chutzpah and her large breasts. Her measurements were often reported to be 60-23-39. Other uncredited reports are her measurements at 44-23-37. She distinguished herself from the dumb blonde stereotype with her wit as displayed during her appearances on Johnny Carson and David Letterman's late-night talk shows. She frequently quipped that fellow busty sex symbol Dolly Parton was "flat-chested" compared to her.
She appeared in Playboy magazine, in June 1983, April 1985 and September 1989. During the 1990s she occasionally kissed minor league players. Her last notable appearance before retirement was in the Farrelly brothers' feature film Kingpin in 1996, appearing as herself. Morganna went into retirement at the end of 1999 and now lives in Ohio. She no longer grants interviews or does appearances.
She would buy a ticket to a baseball game, and then she would quite illegally jump on the field, run over to a pre-selected player and kiss him. Then Morganna would be escorted out of the ballpark by security guards. Her work was done. Her first kiss was in 1971, when as a 17-year-old she accepted a dare to run onthe field and kiss Pete Rose. A Cincinnati sportswriter dubbed her “Morganna The Kissing Bandit,” and the name stuck.
She did her best work in the late ’70s and early ’80s, with her most famous smooch coming during the 1979 All-Star Game in Seattle (the recipient was George Brett.) In the ’90s, she moved to the minor leagues, barnstorming the country with her lips. (In contrast to Major League Baseball teams, minor-league teams actively welcomed her to their games and would not threaten her with arrest. Minor-league baseball teams are by necessity masters of showmanship.)
