A Joran van der Sloot confession may close one m@rd3r case while raising more questions in another.
The Dutchman, long the prime suspect in U.S. teen Natalee Holloway's 2005 disappearance in Aruba, confessed to k!II!ng a different young woman in his Lima hotel room last week, a police spokesman says.
Police Col. Abel Gamarra, head of the Information Directorate of Police, told The Associated Press late Monday that Van der Sloot admitted under questioning by police that he k!II3d 21-year-old Stephany Flores.
Gamarra said the case will be turned over to prosecutors who will present formal charges against Van der Sloot. The National Prison Institute will determine which prison he will be held in while awaiting trial.
Van der Sloot was charged Thursday in the United States with trying to extort $250,000 from Holloway's family in exchange for disclosing the location of her body and describing how she died.
U.S. prosecutors say $15,000 was transferred to a Dutch bank account in his name. In the Netherlands on Friday, prosecutors raided two homes in the case, seizing computers, cell phones and data-storage devices.
Holloway told ABC that only his ex-wife Beth Twitty had been told about the case by the FBI until shortly before the charges were made public.
"That was handled by the FBI and I knew nothing about it. I think the only person that was involved in this incident was Beth. The FBI indicated that only the people involved in it should know," Holloway told ABC.
Holloway described the Flores m@rd3r as being like "deja vu."
Holloway, 18, was celebrating her high school graduation on Aruba when she disappeared. Van der Sloot told investigators he left her on a beach, dr@nk. This was the last time she was seen.
Two years ago, a Dutch television cr!m3 reporter captured hidden-camera footage of van der Sloot saying that after Holloway collapsed on the beach he asked a friend to dump her body in the sea.

I THINK IT IS REALLY SAD FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TO THIS YOUNG GIRL AND FEELY DEEPLY SAD FOR HER PARENTS I WOULD NOT BE THE SAME IF THAT HAPPEN TO ONE OF MY KIDS SHE DID NOT EVEN HAVE A CHANCE TO EXPERIENCE HER ADULTHOOD HER LIFE WAS RUSHED FOR NOTHING. MAY GOD BLESS HER FAMILY U WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY PRAYERS
It sounds like they found a good prison for him. Maybe he will survive long enough for some payback before they kill him.
He should stay in Peru in prision for the rest of his life.
hopefully that MF will get it worse than he gave it. He can't run to his daddy now.
my question-----how was this filmed? what camera? and did they know they were being filmed? crazy.... hopefully the family can have some peace now
There have been confessions,there have been investigations, and yet this (joran) seems to have an excuse or can renig on comments made...This goverment our goverment the UNITED STATES goverment have locked up people for less....The clues are there all they need is whats in front of them,now that they have him in custody for murder..now is the time to bring back the confession video and put this clown away for before another girl goes missing or these current murder charges will get dropped for lack of evidence...god knows he got out of natilees this ones not so different.
so have they ever actually found her body, do we know if she is dead for sure?
