On June 1, 2010, Melissa Kellie McBee, 47, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, was arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after a 21-year-old told police that McBee had victimized her when she was 15 years old.

According to police, McBee was a coach at Carolina High School when, according to the victim, she was allegedly sexually abused and given alcohol by McBee. The then-15-year-old was living with McBee when the possible abuse occurred.

School officials said, "McBee resigned from her position on March 25 after previously being placed on leave on Feb. 17 when we were made aware of the accusations and began our investigation.

McBee had been employed at the school since 1991 and recently worked as a health occupations teacher and cross country coach. Prior to that she was a physical education teacher and girls' assistant basketball coach, volleyball coach and head softball coach.
