Back in 1974 Cris Williamson appeared on a women’s radio show in Washington, DC. After answering a question about sexism in the music industry, Cris suggested the women start their own music label. It was that idea that sparked a collective of women to start Olivia Records, which now runs Olivia Vacations.



Cris Williamson took some time out as she prepares for her Changer and the Changed 30th Anniversary tour to talk about her career as a Women’s Music and Lesbian Pioneer. Williamson is remembered by many in the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) community for her contributions, both artistically, and politically, and continues to be a role model for a younger generation hoping to address concerns and obtain recognition for achievements specific to people who have historically been ignored.

Cris Williamson said about Marriage: "There’s the issue of marriage. Which isn’t the issue we ever thought would be the issue upon which things would turn. You can’t always know what’s doing to be he fulcrum, the tipping point."
