Theodore "Ted" Ginn, Jr. (born April 12, 1985 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American football wide receiver and return specialist for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins ninth overall in the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at Ohio State.

Ted Ginn is 25 years now and has come back from a very bad NFL 2009 season with Miami Dolphins. No reasons of why 49ers have opted for Ted is known yet.

Based on the last 2 Dolphin games, suggest that Ginn the receiver is on verge of another breakout game. Ginn is often getting open on blitz. Also with Ronnie Brown out of the Wildcat picture and Pat White now in, there might be more passing involved. Upgrade Ginn the receiver.

`I could have played a lot better,'' Ginn said. ``It wasn't as productive as I wanted it to be. But at the end of the year, I've been pretty good. You go through trials and tribulations and it's all about how you bounce back. I've made some catches'' recently -- including five for 82 yards against Houston.

But negative perceptions were fueled earlier in the season, when Ginn dropped several passes, failed to haul in what would have been the winning touchdown against Indianapolis, and generated few yards after catch.

Ginn noted last summer how several prominent receivers' statistics rose dramatically in their third season.

Ginn has the talent, and he after all still only 25. Perhaps all he needs is a new home, and as Larry Johnson has whined, a coach who understands him. His receiving skills may be questionable at this point, but he’s certainly a stud in the return game, so he has value to teams that need help in that department.
Let’s take a look at some possible landing spots.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – The Dolphins cross-state rivals have the need, and they can certainly throw him in the mix with all the other receivers they have (Reggie Brown, Michael Clayton…) and see if he sticks.

Ginn drew criticism for running poor routes and shying away from contact. Last season he lost his job as a starting receiver and totalled only 38 receptions for 454 yards and one score.

"I wouldn't say a sense of relief but it's always good to have a new start. Leaving Miami, I don't hold and grudges and no bad feelings about anything. My time was up there. I enjoyed it there and now it's time to move on," Ginn said. "There's no bad blood. It's the best decision for both of us."

Now under the Bill Parcells regime, the Dolphins announced the trade in a one-sentence release and had no further comment.
