On November 13, 2008, former high school English teacher, Crissy Hisey, 28, was sentenced to 120 days in jail and three years probation, after she pleaded guilty to 10 counts of oral copulation of a minor. Hisey, who taught the 17-year-old girl, was arrested after the girl's family found out about the sexual encounters and reported it to authorities.

Hisey held her teaching position at the California high school from 2004 until her resignation in early 2008 after her arrest.
