Melissa Weber, 27, was a social studies teacher at a middle school in Queens New York when she was arrested on May 28, 2009, and charged with statutory rape, sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. Prosecutors say the alleged male victim, age 14, was one of Weber's students.

The boy's mother reported Weber to police after she was warned by friends about the possible relationship, prompting her to check her son's cell phone. Reports say she found hundreds of calls and text messages, many sexual in nature, between Weber and her son, including a message from Weber telling him to erase his cell phone.
